The World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics is pleased to announce the 2020 World Congress will be held in Donostia San Sebastián under the theme VET Excellence – For All from October 14-16, 2020. The announcement was officially made at the closing ceremony of the 2018 World Congress in Melbourne, Australia. San Sebastián is a resort town on the Bay of Biscay in Spain’s mountainous Basque Country. Europe 2020 will be hosted by Tknika (Basque Country) and the Association of Colleges (UK). 2020 will mark the 10^th World Congress of the World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics (WFCP).

2020 is also a crucial date for Europe. It will be an opportunity to check compliance for the targets defined by Europe for the period 2010-2020. It will also mark the launch of a strategy to support platforms of excellence in the professional and technical education and training (PTET) sector, which will involve cooperation with centres from all over the world. It will be an opportunity to hear changes adopted for the 2021-2027 Erasmus + and other education programs. Finally, it will offer an opportunity to take stock of the level of compliance with the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs), which were defined for the period 2015-2030. Under the SDGs, the global PTET sector has greater responsibility in building a sustainable, inclusive world.

The 2020 WFCP Congress will include different elements that will highlight the trends of the PTET sector all over the world. Following WFCP World Congress tradition, 2020 will feature:

• High quality keynote speakers
• Social events, including a gala dinner and site visits
• Workshops for the affinity groups
• Meeting opportunities for networks and CEOs
• Awards of excellence
• Leadership institute workshop
• Youth Camp
• Cultural program for delegates coming before the congress
• Annual General Meeting

Sessions will include the participation of policy makers, government, research and academia and will involve delegates from organizations and networks from all over the world.

Europe 2020’s pre-Congress events will begin on October 11, 2020, with the World Congress set to start on October 15, 2020. See more details here.
