Ottawa, April 23, 2023 – The World Federation of Colleges and Polytechnics (WFCP) launched its 2023 World Congress today in Montréal, Canada, with a keynote by French-Canadian Aerospace Engineer Dr. Farah Alibay and an opening ceremony attended by more than 1,000 delegates from Canada and abroad.
The 2023 World Congress is being hosted by WFCP in partnership with Colleges and Institutes Canada (CICan), April 23-25, in Montréal, Quebec, Canada, with the theme Collective Intelligence.
Knowing how to use and leverage all forms of intelligence is essential to the development of both individuals and societies, including social, cultural, political, environmental, emotional and artificial intelligence. Collective Intelligence is required to ensure a holistic and creative approach to meet the needs of a diverse student population from various pathways and the needs of the labour market in constant evolution.
“The WFCP World Congress brings together TVET educators from across the globe to use our collective intelligence to benefit our students, businesses, governments and the communities we serve. Inspiring and developing global mindsets, creativity, innovation, teamwork, and compassion for our world and each other,” says WFCP Board Chair, Dawn Ward. “We are committed to sharing and learning through our Congress and our Affinity Groups to ensure we all play our part in delivering the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, so that no one is left behind.”
Over 1500 participants are gathering to reflect, discuss, share and network, all aiming to better advocate, build capacity and drive knowledge to address issues and explore innovative solutions for the post-secondary professional and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) sector, in Canada and around the world.
