Open Call to Host the WFCP World Congress in 2028

Hosting the WFCP World Congress is an opportunity to:

• position your institution, association, city, or country on a global stage
• showcase innovation and leadership in professional and technical education and training
• bring together international partners, industry, and government
• highlight local culture, talent, and institutional strengths
• help shape global conversations in the sector

Previous editions have been hosted in Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Brazil, Spain, Jamaica, and others, reflecting the international reach and prestige of the Congress. 

The next WFCP World Congress will be held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 23 to 28 November 2026. 

The World Congress typically includes:

• keynote speakers and plenary sessions
• breakout sessions and workshops
• networking and social events
• recognition of the WFCP Awards of Excellence
• Youth Camp
• pre-congress activities such as the Leadership Institute and campus tours
• post-congress Board meetings or retreat activities 

The Congress should reflect WFCP’s international character and strategic direction, while drawing on the strengths, priorities, and partnerships of the host region. In recent editions, it has become standard practice for the WFCP World Congress to be held alongside or integrated into a national congress or sector event, helping to ensure strong regional, national, and international engagement. The Congress should create opportunities for professional exchange, innovation, accessibility, sustainability, and networking.

Expressions of interest should be submitted by WFCP member organizations or by organizations that are willing to become WFCP members as part of the hosting process.

WFCP is seeking a host organization with:

• strong organizational and partnership capacity
• access to an appropriate and accessible venue
• the ability to build a compelling program and local experience
• the ability to work closely with the WFCP Board and Secretariat
• a realistic approach to funding, sponsorship, and event delivery 

Interested members are invited to submit a short expression of interest covering the following:

1. Host organization

Please introduce your institution or association, indicate whether you are currently a WFCP member or willing to become one, and explain why you are interested in hosting the Congress.

2. Proposed location

Please identify the proposed city and venue, and briefly explain why it would be a strong setting for an international event.

3. Vision

Please describe your initial vision for the Congress, including possible theme ideas and what your host context could bring to the event.

4. Organizing capacity

Please outline the team, partnerships, and local support available to help plan and deliver the Congress.

5. Financial approach

Please provide a brief overview of how you would approach budgeting, sponsorship, fundraising, and overall financial planning.
