Vocational Training Council (VTC)

Established in 1982, the Vocational Training Council (VTC) is the leading vocational and professional education and training (VPET) provider in Hong Kong. VTC has in total 13 member institutions, each responsible for a portfolio of services for different segments of learners, and providing a broad spectrum of programmes.

VTC offers a wide array of career-focused programmes and a clear roadmap for senior secondary graduates, catering for their diverse abilities, interests and learning needs. Students are offered a range of study options – whether a 4-year degree, a 2-year higher diploma or a 1-year diploma to develop their potential.

Catering for students with different backgrounds and abilities, VTC provides valuable credentials for some 200,000 students each year through a full range of pre-employment and in-service programmes with internationally recognized qualifications.

As a dedicated VPET provider, VTC’s mission is to help school leavers and working adults to acquire values, knowledge and skills for lifelong learning and enhanced employability and sustainability. Articulation under VTC’s courses presents a vertical value chain for students, rising from craft and junior operative level to higher technician or para-professional at sub-degree level, and then to technologist at degree and professional level and beyond.
