Taishan Polytechnic

Established in 1955, Taishan Polytechnic (TP, Chinese: 泰山职业技术学院), is the unique comprehensive public vocational college of Tai’an City, Shandong Province of China. Named after Mount Tai, the most famous of China’s five great mountains, it is situated at the foot of the mountain and was appraised as the National Charming College.

As the leading institution of higher vocational education in Tai’an, it is the only provincial prestigious higher vocational college here. At present, there are over 13,000 students.

TP mainly offers full-time higher vocational education and social training. TP is the pioneer among over 10 programs, including modern apprenticeship, educational informationalization and teaching diagnosis & improvement etc. There are 35 majors covering the areas of Tourism and Cultural Services, Economic and Trade, Architecture, Manufacture and Agriculture. It has over 40 programs of social services. It is the biggest training and technology-popularization center of industrial robots in the north areas of the Changjiang River of China as well as national practice bases for the electrical automation and numerical control techniques.

Famous for its graduate employment, it is also one of the top 100 national modes of Post-Education Vocational Employment Outcomes and ranked in 2nd among 134 institutions; 1st among 76 higher vocational colleges in the whole province.

It is a college with the combination of training modes of the traditional culture of an ancient folk school called Taishan Academy(TA), and the modern college education. TA’s history is more than 1000 years, which can be traced back to the Song Dynasty and was rebuilt by TP. It is granted the National Advanced Unit of Vocational Education and an A-level by the Ministry of Education during the national estimation of talents cultivation.
